A useful answer to “what should we improve?”

Website audits.
Find the issues worth fixing.

An audit should help you decide what to do next. I review the website in the context of your business, identify the issues that affect customers or search access and explain which changes are worth prioritising. I can also implement the agreed work.

Start with the business and the evidence

Before running tools, I need to know the important services, customers and website journeys. A retailer, a local service business and a bespoke application need different checks. We agree the scope so the review answers a real question.

Where authorised access is available, Search Console and analytics can add useful context. If the data is unavailable, I say so and continue with the public checks that can be completed; missing access is not evidence that a website has no traffic or is not indexed.

Use tools to investigate, not to chase a score

Automated crawls and performance tests can reveal problems, but each finding needs judgement. A warning may be a useful clue, an intentional setup or a third-party issue with little practical impact. I focus on the result for users and search systems.

The review can cover important content, navigation, internal links, titles, indexability, canonical URLs, mobile behaviour and the path to enquire or buy. Performance findings distinguish lab measurements from any available real-user evidence.

Make the recommendations actionable

I explain the affected pages, observed behaviour, likely impact and proposed fix. The plan separates urgent defects from worthwhile improvements and optional ideas, so you can allocate time and budget sensibly.

A high tool score does not guarantee a ranking, and a long list of warnings does not mean every page needs rewriting. The purpose is to find the changes that make the website easier to access, understand and use.

Choose review, implementation or both

I can provide the findings for your existing team, work alongside them or handle a defined implementation scope. Significant changes need a recovery route and focused checks after release, especially where the site takes orders or handles business-critical enquiries.

Send the website address and the main concern, whether that is weak enquiries, search visibility, a planned rebuild or a technical problem. I will suggest a proportionate review and explain the access needed to make it useful.

  • Content and customer-journey review
  • Technical SEO and indexability checks
  • Performance findings in context
  • Prioritised actions and implementation options

Before we get started

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Will you fix everything the audit tool reports?

I review the findings first and prioritise real issues. Blindly changing intentional or low-impact behaviour can waste time or damage useful functionality.

Can you audit before a rebuild?

Yes. An audit can clarify whether a rebuild is justified and identify content or URLs that need preserving.
