A second pair of experienced eyes

Website consultancy.
Clear thinking, practical help.

You may already have designers, developers or a marketing team. Sometimes what you need is someone who can look across the whole picture, ask the awkward practical questions and help turn an idea into a workable plan. I can act as your website consultant and contribute directly where the project needs it.

Get a clear view of the problem

A website project can become difficult when the brief, technology and business expectations drift apart. I start by understanding what you need to achieve, what already exists and which decisions are holding things up. The output should help you act, not simply add another document to the project folder.

I can review an existing site, help define a rebuild, assess proposed features or work through a technical issue with your supplier. Where the evidence is incomplete, I explain what needs checking before a recommendation can be treated as a decision.

Translate between business and development

A useful specification explains the user, the task and the expected behaviour. I can help define those details for a CRM, quoting tool, e-commerce integration or customer portal, including data flows, permissions and important exceptions.

That makes conversations with your internal team or external agency more productive. It also helps identify the features that are essential now, the assumptions that need testing and the work that can sensibly wait until the first version is in use.

Advice with implementation experience

I bring practical experience of designing, developing, optimising and caring for websites. That means I can discuss the consequences of a recommendation: how it affects the content team, what an integration needs, which ongoing costs it introduces and how the finished work will be maintained.

Digital Space is an example of a relationship that includes consultancy alongside development, maintenance, support and wider online activity. The point is to fit into the client’s business and contribute useful technical judgement, rather than insist that every task becomes a full rebuild.

Work alongside the people you already trust

I can contribute to meetings, review a proposed approach, assess a release or take ownership of a defined technical task. You remain in control of the project and its existing supplier relationships. The arrangement is agreed around the decisions and work you need help with.

An initial review may reveal that your current team already has the right solution. In that case, useful consultancy can be as simple as confirming the approach, clarifying a risk or helping prioritise the next stage.

  • Website and technical reviews
  • Briefs, requirements and supplier discussions
  • Integration and platform decisions
  • SEO, AIO and conversion improvement planning

Make the next decision easier

Tell me what you are planning, who is involved and which question needs answering. I will suggest a sensible review or consultancy scope and explain the information needed to make it useful.

There is no fixed consultancy price hidden behind the website package starting price. A short review, an ongoing advisory role and detailed technical discovery are different pieces of work, and I quote them accordingly.

Real briefs.
Different starting points.

The case studies explain the brief, the website and my role. Starting prices describe the service offer, not what an individual client paid.

Before we get started

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Can you work with our current agency or developer?

Yes. I can join a defined part of the project, review decisions or provide practical implementation support alongside your existing team.

Will you insist on rebuilding the website?

No. I assess the existing site and the business requirement first. Targeted improvements or a clearer brief can be more useful than a rebuild.

What will we receive from a review?

The agreed output may be a prioritised action plan, a technical brief, annotated findings or direct implementation. We define that before the work starts.
