One business. Several useful journeys.

Web design Preston.
Make every route clear.

A visitor might want to book, buy, ask a question or find your location. I design websites for Preston businesses that make those different routes understandable, with a clear scope, direct access to me and a plan for keeping the website useful after it goes live.

Your developer. Your direct contact.

Give each customer the right next step.

Bring the offer together.
Keep the choices clear.

A business can offer several things without needing several disconnected websites. The challenge is helping someone understand the offer and reach the right next step. I plan the structure around those decisions, so a visitor can get a quick overview or find the practical detail without searching through unrelated pages.

Henry’s Smokehouse is a real example from my work, based in Greenhalgh, Preston. Its public website brings together a restaurant visit, a shop and catering. Those are different customer journeys under one brand. The design needs to make the choices understandable, while the systems handling a booking or order need a clearly planned role.

I am based in Wigan and work directly with Preston businesses. You can see the personal approach behind my Web Design Wigan service, then talk to me about the right scope for your own website. It might be a focused business site, an online shop or improvements to what you already have.

What matters in the work

More useful choices.
Less getting lost.

Talk it through

Separate the important routes

A visit, an enquiry and an online purchase need different information. We decide which journeys matter and make the choices visible, without filling the homepage with competing buttons.

Practical information in the right place

Location, availability, contact details and client-approved policies can be central to a decision. I help organise them where they are needed. Your business provides and checks the details, especially where opening arrangements or service availability may change over time.

A shop when you need one

Online selling involves more than adding a buy button. We plan products, options, payment and fulfilment responsibilities around the offer. An e-commerce website starts from a different price and scope from a simple service site, with complex requirements agreed separately.

Connected booking journeys

An existing provider may already handle appointments, tables or availability. I can review its supported links and embeds and design the website around an agreed hand-off. Bespoke integration, provider charges and custom booking features need their own scope before a promise is made.

Routine changes kept manageable

Menus, product descriptions and business information need a practical editing process. We agree who changes what and how the content is checked. The chosen CMS and handover should fit those jobs, rather than requiring your team to learn unnecessary technical detail.

A plan beyond the launch

Hosting, technical maintenance and marketing do different jobs. I explain the options and agree who looks after each part.

Henry’s Smokehouse

Henry’s Smokehouse is based in Greenhalgh, Preston. Its website brings several customer routes together: visiting the smokehouse, exploring the shop and finding catering information. A shared identity keeps those offers connected, while clear choices help visitors find the route that suits them. It is a useful example when discussing a business whose website needs to do more than one job.

The Lookout Bequia

The Lookout Bequia is an accommodation project elsewhere in my portfolio, with two holiday apartments and a direct host-enquiry journey. It offers a useful contrast: sometimes clear photography, practical information and a personal enquiry are the right solution. Together, these projects show why I start with the customer’s decisions before recommending booking, commerce or other functionality.

The detail behind the work

Choose the useful routes.
Build around them.

I work through the offer and the customer’s next step with you, then agree the design, content and systems. That makes scope and responsibilities clearer before development starts.

01

Decide what belongs on the website

We start with the things people need to understand and do. A new business might need clear services and a contact route. An established business could need to separate several offers or improve an existing shop.

I can work from existing content, rough notes and approved imagery. We identify what is useful, what needs updating and what is missing. My website design service covers the main build, while the hospitality website page explores more specific visitor and booking needs.

02

Scope booking and buying realistically

A brochure website, a booking-provider hand-off and a full online shop are different pieces of work. We identify which system will handle each action, what access is available and which provider costs apply. Complex product rules, payments or integration requirements should be discussed before a starting price becomes an expectation.

The same applies to content. Product information, menus and practical policies need an owner and approval route. I organise the design and development around material you can support.

03

Make the choices work across screens

The design needs to support both a quick phone visit and a more considered desktop browse. I plan the important information, imagery and next steps together, so the layout has a clear hierarchy. Good photographs should help someone understand the offer rather than carry essential details that are unavailable in text.

Before release, we check the agreed journeys and the website foundations, including page structure and on-page SEO. If this replaces an existing site, useful URLs and content need consideration too. Search visibility and AI inclusion cannot be guaranteed simply because a new design and metadata have been added.

04

Agree how the site will be cared for

We set out the handover and the work you want help with afterwards. Your team may manage everyday content while I provide website maintenance and technical changes. Ongoing SEO, AIO or advertising should have a clear scope instead of being confused with the initial on-page setup.

For a smaller local business, the monthly website service is another route: from £100 plus VAT, with a 12-month minimum and local SEO/AIO included. It is an ongoing rental service. A one-off build has different terms, so I explain the distinction before you choose.

Before we get started

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Can one website handle bookings, enquiries and online orders?

Yes, where that fits the business, but the journeys and systems need planning together. We agree what the website does, where an existing provider takes over and what custom work is required. A full shop or bespoke booking integration is a different scope from a simple business website.

Can you use the booking system we already have?

I can review its supported website links, embeds or integration options before recommending the design. Keeping an established provider may be sensible where it already fits the operation. We agree the customer hand-off, any custom development and the provider’s costs rather than assuming a new booking platform is necessary.

Will I be able to change products and information myself?

We agree which editing tasks you need and choose an appropriate setup. A suitable CMS can support routine page or product changes without redesigning the website. The handover and support responsibilities matter too, particularly where changing information needs an internal check before publication.

Does the one-off price include ongoing SEO and AIO?

The one-off starting prices include the agreed on-page SEO setup and 12 months of website and email hosting. Ongoing marketing is a separate service unless explicitly included in your proposal. The local monthly rental includes ongoing local SEO/AIO, with different terms from a one-off website build.

Do I need to replace my existing website?

Not necessarily. I can review what is working, what is awkward and what the platform will support before recommending a rebuild. Sometimes focused content, design or development improvements are more appropriate. The recommendation should relate to your goals and the condition of the site, rather than change for its own sake.
