From repeated exports to useful answers

Custom reporting.
Answers you can act on.

If producing a report means downloading several files and rebuilding the same spreadsheet, there may be a better route. I can help define the questions, connect the available data and create a reporting process that is clearer and easier to repeat.

Agree what the report is meant to explain

A report needs a purpose and an audience. We define the decisions it supports, the period it covers and the measures that matter. That helps avoid a long document full of numbers that do not lead to a useful action.

For marketing, clicks, enquiries and sales are different measures. For operations, a completed job and a paid invoice are different events. Clear definitions make the finished report more credible and reduce disagreements about what a change actually means.

Connect the data responsibly

I review the available sources, permissions and export or API routes. We identify which data can be combined reliably, which needs cleaning and which should remain unavailable rather than be estimated without a basis.

The process should record dates, filters and source limits. Missing or anonymised data needs an honest label, not a made-up zero. That approach is especially important when a report is used to judge marketing performance or compare periods.

Automate repetition without hiding judgement

A reporting tool can collect agreed data, apply defined calculations and produce a repeatable view or export. AI can assist with drafting a commentary, but important conclusions should remain tied to the actual figures and reviewed where the decision warrants it.

I can also help make exceptions visible: a source that did not refresh, an unusual value or a measure that changed definition. A reliable workflow explains its limits instead of quietly producing a polished report from incomplete information.

Choose an output your team will use

The best format may be a dashboard, a scheduled export, a downloadable report or an internal page. We choose it around the audience and how the information will be used, with access and retention considered in the scope.

Tell me which reports take the most effort and what decisions they support. I can help design a focused first version, quote the implementation and define who maintains the data connections after it goes live.

Before we get started

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Can the tool write a commentary using AI?

It can support a draft where appropriate, but factual conclusions must remain tied to the source data and important decisions may need human review.

Can you report on private customer data?

Only within an explicitly authorised and suitable setup. Access, purpose and handling requirements are agreed before implementation.
