A sensible first step online

Small business websites.
Start with what matters.

A smaller budget should lead to a focused brief, not a website that leaves customers guessing. I help new and local businesses decide what the site needs to do first, then build a clear, useful starting point with room for the next stage.

Keep the first version useful

We begin with your services, customers and enquiry route. A clear explanation of the business, the areas you serve, genuine photographs and accurate contact details can be more valuable than a large collection of pages with little to say.

I help separate the essentials from later ideas. If a feature does not help a visitor choose or make the business easier to run, it may not belong in the first build. That keeps the project proportionate and makes the proposal easier to understand.

My portfolio includes ACL Forklift Training, Wigan Roller Rink and Prism AG as smaller-budget examples. Their briefs are different, but each shows why a website should be shaped around the actual business and the action a visitor needs to take.

Budget labels describe the project scope, not a promise that every website can include unlimited functionality at the same price. I explain the pages, content responsibilities and features before the work is agreed.

A clear starting price and useful foundations

Business website builds start from £800 plus VAT, including design, development, on-page SEO and twelve months of website and email hosting. WordPress builds include the managed Pro toolkit and suitable AI/MCP setup within the agreed scope.

The site is planned for mobile use, with clear service information and contact routes. Hosting uses renewable-powered infrastructure; sensible images and practical performance work matter alongside that hosting choice.

Choose how to pay and what happens next

If an upfront build is not the right fit, website rental starts from £100 plus VAT a month with a twelve-month minimum. It includes an agreed local-business build and ongoing local SEO/AIO, and remains a rental rather than becoming an owned website after the first year.

After an upfront build’s included hosting period, standard website/email hosting starts from £120 plus VAT a year. Maintenance and wider marketing can be agreed separately. Tell me what the business does and what you need the website to achieve, and I can explain the practical options.

The tools behind
a better start.

Your Pro toolkit covers forms, search settings, performance, backups, login protection and supported AI connections. I configure the tools around your site and hosting, rather than adding overlapping features.

MCP connects compatible AI tools to the WordPress abilities you authorise. Available actions depend on the client, integrations and user permissions. It does not give every AI tool unrestricted control. Pro licence access is supplied through the managed service; exact tools and renewal arrangements are set out in your proposal.

Before we get started

Good questions.
Straight answers.

Is £800 the price for any number of pages?

No. It is a starting price for an agreed scope. Page count, content, custom features and integrations are defined in the proposal.

Can I start small and add more later?

Yes. We can plan a useful first version and add services, content or features when the business needs them.
